21st Century Scarborough

In the last five years Scarborough has jumped from the 19th century straight into the 21st century!

A major regeneration project has attracted over £35 million of investment.

In addition to the traditional fishing industry and tourism the town has a thriving business park which is about to more than double in size.

The town's population is planned to grow by 20% over the next 10 years.

New businesses coming to the town are increasingly from the Digital and Creative Industries.

A new Creative Industries Centre - Woodend Creative Workspace - will open in Spring 2008.

Scarborough is about to become the first point-of-presence for North Yorkshire's new Next Generation Broadband network. (Possibly the most advanced internet access in Europe.)

Investment in Scarborough's harbour and waterfront has created a new focal point for the town with a stylish European atmosphere.
